Labor Day and Furlough Day

Please note that Trion City Schools will observe Labor Day on Monday, September 6th as a system wide holiday. Additionally, Tuesday, Sept. 7 will be observed as a scheduled furlough day. Therefore, there will be no school on either of these two days. Enjoy the extra long weekend!

Bulldogs Travel to LaFayette Friday Night

The Trion High School Bulldog football team kicked off their season last Friday night and played a tough game, but they came up a little short against Armuchee. This Friday night the Dogs will travel to LaFayette and face the Ramblers. "If our boys stay focused, play hard, and clean up some of their mistakes from last Friday night, we ought to be in good shape," according to Coach David Humphreys. Kickoff is at 7:30. Go Dogs!

Lady Dogs On the Road This Week

The Lady Dogs Softball team is full steam ahead this season. The ladies have been training this summer, and they are excited about this year's season. New coaches this year are Marcia Thompson, David Holbrooks and Kelly Vrieze. Thompson says the girls are practicing hard and facing tough challenges every game. Join the Lady Dogs next week as they face Cedartown.

Fall is just around the corner. In preparing for our upcoming fall sporting events, pictures of our athletes, coaches and their families will be available. Copies of the forms and envelopes will be sent home for personal ads and picture packages. Copies of forms and information sheets are also attached. New Principals For 2010-2011 School Year

Lots of things have been happening over the summer break. A significant change for Trion City Schools has been in our leadership positions.

Trion City Schools has appointed Cindy Anderson as the Middle School Principal for the upcoming school year. She has held administrative postions throughout the system for twelve years, most recently serving as Elementary School Principal. She has also been a Middle School math teacher here at Trion.

In the attached documents, you can view material that was presented during recent registration meetings held at Trion High School. Each of the four documents contains specific information for students that will be attending THS during the next school year. TES Backpack Express

A new feature called, TES Backpack Express, has been added to our Elementary School website. Go to the Elementary School section of the website and click on the backpack icon.

You will be able to view and print documents that are sent home with your child. There will not be anything posted that has personal information, but only generic forms and/or notices. Just another way Trion is using technology to help make a parent's job a little easier.
